ECHOVOX System is an all-in-one Echo based Real Time EVP recording system that has been three years in the making. With its latest version, it now offers professional quality reverb and an upgraded audio engine that can record mono wav 44.1 files. Additionally, it introduces a whole new mode and includes a reversed playback feature, among other enhancements.
However, it's important to note that the learning curve for version 3.0 can be quite steep for new users. EchoVox is a real-time amplified recording system that utilizes random phonetics, microphone input, and a natural loop recording echo to create a bed of random chaotic noise. The delay time can be adjusted from 0 to 10 seconds, allowing you to hear the audio as it is being recorded to disk in real-time.
Echo has been known to contribute to EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). It's important to understand that the echo effect in EchoVox is not a digital effect added to the sound; rather, it is a loop of the actual recording. For optimal results, it is recommended to use an external/Bluetooth speaker and increase the volume.
The features offered by EchoVox include echo without recording, six channels of random phonetic audio, four sound banks, studio quality reverb, real-time audio recording in WAV format at 44.1 kHz, a new "burst" mode for random bursts of sounds from random banks, an auto blend/auto shuffle option, multiple delay settings, mic gain input control, and the ability to play, fast forward, rewind, slow down, speed up, and reverse audio files within the app for review purposes. Additionally, users can upload recordings to SoundCloud and utilize the file browser to manage sessions. Custom reverb presets can also be saved and traded in the .ievrp format.
In terms of controls, each channel has independent playback speed control with an on/off switch. The mic gain allows you to control the microphone input volume. The "Auto Blend" and "Shuffle" functions blend across the six random audio channels, and the echo starts recording to disk.
The theory behind EchoVox is the result of years of field experiments. Its echo feature is actually a chaotic loop of chopped up vocal samples and environmental sounds, creating a virtual soup of unpredictable sound and frequencies.
EchoVox has been extensively used and tested worldwide, including on live television in India and South America.
